General Partner
Ernest Kabuye leads Seven Capital Ventures’ day-to-day operations as General Partner. His work centers on identifying and scaling innovative startups driving economic growth and social impact in financial services, e-commerce, and logistics. Ernest also works closely with mission-aligned funders to deliver outsized returns.
With a background in entrepreneurship, strategy, and product design, Ernest brings a multidisciplinary investment approach. As a former founder and strategy consultant, Ernest has successfully leveraged his expertise to guide businesses in building scalable, technology-driven solutions. Ernest holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Chief of Staff
Joy Jing is a creative generalist and the Chief of Staff of Seven Capital Ventures. She comes from years of experience in the VC + startup ecosystem. Previously, Joy was the Head of Community at Everywhere Ventures (global pre-seed fund) and she held a variety of growth roles at MassChallenge (global accelerator). Joy has also worked closely with early stage founders across a variety of sectors on fundraising, go-to-market, social media, and community building.
Joy holds a BA in Environmental Science, Architecture, and Economics from Harvard University.

Venture Partner
Daren Workeman is an investment professional who has focused on emerging uses of advanced technology across SaaS, marketplaces, and financial technology. He brings over 8 years of experience in analytics and client service, having built retail logistics programs from the ground up for an online auction platform, partnering with large clients’ online retail logistics units. He also spent some time conducting market research to build a buyout pipeline for a small acquisitions fund. Daren’s career started out at a sports & entertainment online marketplace as a financial analyst, where he helped grow the emerging company with forecasting, cash flow modeling, and account management to drive sales and inventory management.
Daren is a 2025 MBA graduate of The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, with a focus on corporate finance & strategy.

Principal
Maria Inziani is a Principal at Seven Capital Ventures, where she leads investments in startups across emerging and frontier markets. Previously, Maria was a Venture Partner at Baobab Network where she led strategic deal sourcing, due diligence, and accelerator operations. Before that, Maria led data and analytics at Kenbright, Asoko Insight, and KPMG East Africa.
As Principal, Maria Inziani works closely with founders to scale innovative solutions in global markets. She believes in the power of capital to reshape industries and communities. Maria holds a MSc in Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, and a BSc in Actuarial Science from Meru University of Science and Technology.

Associate
Steve Mwangangi is an Associate at Seven Capital Ventures, bringing a strong foundation in venture capital and commercial law. Steve’s previous roles at Bowmans, a Tier 1 African law firm, and Future Africa, an early-stage investment fund, have equipped him with expertise in due diligence, deal sourcing, and investment analysis. Steve has supported startups in climate tech, edtech, retail, and fintech, where he was deeply involved in the fundraising process and growth strategies.
Steve holds a Bachelors of Law from University of Nairobi and has completed the Advocate Training Program from Kenya School of Law.

Associate
Taiwo Obasan is an entrepreneur and operator turned investor, and an Associate at Seven Capital Ventures. As a two times exited founder, Taiwo brings first hand experience in scaling businesses and skills in finance, product, design, growth, and operations. Taiwo strives to provide hands-on advisory, connecting founders to growth-enabling resources and guiding them through scaling challenges across Africa and emerging markets.
Taiwo holds a BSc in Economics from University of Lagos and an MBA from Tekedia Institute.
